E-pass – How to get out on roads during Lockdown

Epass Nepal

23 days into Lockdown and we know some of us are freaking out at home. But, first thing First, we hope you guys are following the golden 20 seconds rule of hand washing and sanitizing well.

Now, we have a good news for you. Nepal Government Ministry of Home Affairs has now introduced the “E-Pass” system for vehicles or individuals for urgent stuffs and works. This includes for the vehicle and people with food and water suppliers, emergency health issues, funerals, Press and Health workers.

How to get the E-pass online??

First of all you can send an SMS with any random code (not specified in the notice itself) from you mobile phone to  1112.

Then, You will receive a link in your inbox. Open the link and fill out the form. You have to submit an ID, be it a citizenship or driving license, Passport, voters card or even an office employee card and give details of your vehicle as required. You may as well submit other documents that further proves your reason of going out like hospital document, office referral or death photos (crazy right). As long as its convincing enough for a cause.
As per “E-pass” acceptance rules your submitted documents will be verified and you will get notified if or not your request has been accepted.

If permission granted, you will receive a code in your mobile phone which itself will be your pass for vehicles.

Hey! but dont forget to keep yourself safe while out and only request for a epass if its absolutely, we mean only if its ABSOLUTELY URGENT.

Stay safe.
